I don't understand......why? Why do they do nothing?

How can the richest most powerful nation in the world, suddenly turn into the crazy uncle no one else wants to sit with at the holidays.
I mean seriously.
The G6 nations don't include us in their briefings anymore?
We have "defunded" the World Health Organization?
Inject disinfectant into the body? Seriously?
And let us not forget that the pandemic response team created due to the ebola epidemic, was disbanded because of penis envy between the orange monster and our last president.
And because of that envy....more Americans have died in the past two months than in the entire Viet Nam War. And our leaders say, "We are working hard. Everyone who wants a test can get a test. Everything is great. We're doing really really good."
ALL LIES and I am tired of being lied to.
What colored glasses are they looking through?
Clearly, they are the color that only sees power and money. The glasses that see how much money they can make of a bogus claim of a certain medication being a cure-all and then investing in it as the stock price soars...(look it up).
Many of the rich and powerful forget over time that what they made/created/built was on the backs of laborers and white-collar middle-class workers along with taxpayer dollars in the form of small business loans and other government agencies....but I digress.
And now we have our first responders, medical doctors, and EMT's suffering mentally from the days and days of death here in NYC. Over this past weekend, a Doctor at NY presbyterian committed suicide while she was home in North Carolina recovering from COVID-19. A 23yr old brand new EMT who had been on the job for three months and was only 23yrs old took his father's gun and ended his life on the bank of the east river. 23 yrs old...and this is probably just the beginning as we learn more and more about the PTSD associated with the fallout from this virus.
So I don't understand.
I don't understand how an administration in the United States of America can think this is ok. We have always been the country that has been looked at sometimes with envy sometimes with disdain and many times with awe (both good and bad). How we treat our citizens and the freedoms we enjoy are why other nations watch us so closely.
We have the freedom to protest. Freedom of speech, and of course freedom of religion. We also have the freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.....at least that is what our forefathers foresaw. Although with the way this pandemic is being handled, the last three seem to be debatable.
That's where the I DONT UNDERSTAND comes in.
If you have a test for the virus.....and a test for the antibodies, why have you not set up a way for everyone to get tested for both?
I am at risk. I am at HIGH risk. I want to go to work, but the CDC won't implement safety standards that would allow me to go back to work. My company won't implement them either so the blame is equally distributed. Testing the high risk and the vulnerable and isolating them makes sense to me. Test the general public and find out who is asymptomatic and who is negative and who has antibodies and who doesn't.
It seems like simple common sense to me...until then, I am perfectly good staying home.
