The Darkness Among Us
The Darkness Among Us Seeds sowed with hateful hearts. Depleted energy, after the pistol pin cracks. The light in others dowsed. Oh, how we have failed them. The hope of youth following the agony and indifference of age. Let them energize us. Let them lead us. Let them show us the way back to who we were. Pain....brought about by an imagined slight. Black, Brown, Red or White. Fear dragged forward Into the light. Ugly is the soul, beautiful though the art of the face on the bill may be. Only moments of solace, Until greed arises again. Unbidden, Unsolicited, Unrequited Simply there. The greed of people who do not bleed, allowing others To hate To destroy To kill With no remorse or empathy as they count their profits. Still we go on.......... Written on 3/6/18 on the LIRR
